Brochure design

How we design a brochure

Most of the work in brochure design is keeping page forty the same as page four: one grid, the product shot at the right size, the price where people look for it, and type that still reads when the printer runs it a shade heavy. We design the brochure, set every page, and manage the printer if you want us to.

Abode brief their brochures from one desk and their stand from another, and the two still come out as one brand because the system underneath is the same. Locala’s Volunteering Handbook and Graduate Intern Handbook were both applied from one set of rules. The next job is usually a reprint: a product changes, and one page has to move without anything else moving.

Questions

How long does a brochure take?

It depends on the brief: how many pages, and how much of the copy and photography already exists. We set the timeline once we've read the brief.

Who does the photography?

If you already have a photographer, we work with them. If not, we source one for the job.

Do you manage the printer?

We can, through the printers we use regularly, or we hand print-ready files to yours. Some clients prefer to run print themselves, so it's your call.

What happens when a page needs to change?

Email us the change. We make it, charge for the time it takes and send back print-ready artwork. A reprint with nothing changed needs only the files sent again.

See your brand the way everyone else does.

A free audit of your brand out in the world: the website, the print, the signage, the templates your own team fills in. We do the work, then walk you through it.

Start before you have a brief.

You don’t need a brief. A name, an email and a few lines about where things stand is enough. We’ll come back with questions, and tell you plainly how we can help.
