Most of the people using your brand guidelines won’t be designers: your own team, a printer, a sign maker, whoever you hire next. We write them for when we’re not in the room, short enough to read and exact enough to settle an argument. They cover the mark and its clear space, the colours with their values, the type and how it behaves at small sizes, and worked examples of the things you make.
Gladman’s mark existed only as a bitmap. We redrew it and wrote twenty-one pages of guidelines, now an online guide their team works from. Rare Disease Research UK needed a hub and eleven research nodes to look like one platform, so the guidelines carry a lockup for each node. Locala’s are applied by their own team, nine years on, from strategy documents to corridor signs.

A free audit of your brand out in the world: the website, the print, the signage, the templates your own team fills in. We do the work, then walk you through it.
You don’t need a brief. A name, an email and a few lines about where things stand is enough. We’ll come back with questions, and tell you plainly how we can help.
