The brief
Locala run community health services across West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, which means clinics, waiting rooms, car parks and outreach. People find these under stress, often for the first time, and often in a building that is not obviously a clinic.
The approach
A sign gets read from across a car park, often by somebody who is late, so the service lockups and the colour do the work and the type stays out of the way.
What was done
Signs to the blood test clinic and the patient car park. Waiting-room signs for the Kirklees sexual health service while it was being refitted. A poster for a women’s health drop-in in Bradford, and in February 2026 the poster and roller banner for a new clinic in a van, with tear-off QR codes so people can see when it is next in their area.
